Students were celebrating after achieving ‘excellent’ GCSE results, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic over the past two years of their studies. Springwood High School’s deputy headteacher, Sally Ashfield, said: “This has been a fantastic year group who have worked so hard. It is great to see that their hard work paid off.”

The principal of a Wisbech academy has praised staff and students after a record-breaking year for exam results illustrating a huge turnaround of fortunes. Thomas Clarkson Academy students who received both A Level and GCSE results this month have been at the heart of a culture of change driven by Richard Scott and his team, who saw the results of hard work over recent years. There were celebrations at Glyn School today when students collected their A Level results after a ‘challenging’ time. “The class of 2022 are a cohort nationally that has had more turbulence than any other. Not only did they not sit their GCSE public examinations in 2020, they also had a block of time remote learning in Year 12. Even with this disruption, our class of 2022 have achieved an exceptional set of results,” said head of school Jo Garrod. Students are celebrating after receiving impressive grades in their A Levels, despite the trials and tribulations of the past two years. The high achievers from Oxted School included Skye Wheelan, who achieved three A*s and is going to read French and Spanish at Edinburgh University, and Lois Clark, who received three A*s and is heading to the University of Bath to study Sports and Exercise Science. Students are celebrating their school’s ‘best ever’ GCSE results, despite their education having been disrupted by the pandemic. St Clement’s High School, a member of the West Norfolk Academies Trust, reported that 66 per cent of its Year 11 students achieved a level 4 grade or higher in English and maths. There was more than one reason for Thomas Clarkson Academy student Emily Crowson to celebrate her GCSE results this week - she has just returned from a charity trip to Kenya. GCSE students in Surrey have been celebrating ‘a fantastic set of results’, despite the impact of the pandemic on their education.
Russell Bond, Principal at Oxted School that is part of The Howard Partnership Trust, was full of praise for the Class of ’22. Students at Marshland High school are celebrating their best-ever exam results with 65 per cent achieving a grade 4 or more in English and maths. Due to the pandemic, the school, a member of the West Norfolk Academies Trust, posted its last GCSE results in 2019, when 59 per cent of students attained a 4+ in the same key subjects. |
