Staff and pupils at a Surrey school have officially been named ‘Angels’ for the help and support provided to young carers. Whyteleafe Primary School, a member of the multi-academy GLF Trust, has received the Angel Award from Surrey Young Carers for the work it has put into demonstrating the school is young carer friendly. A primary school in Ashington has responded to a plea from one of their own, when the grandparents of one pupil asked for help after taking refugees into their home in Poland. Local pizza shop, Sorrentos Pizzaria, agreed to collect donations on behalf of the Polish Catholic Church, and St Aidan’s Catholic Primary School, a member of the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust, agreed to support them.
