Pupils at Danetree Primary School in West Ewell had a close encounter of the feathered kind the other week when the Falconry UK birds of prey experience visited the school and brought some of their most spectacular birds with them.  Whyteleafe School is celebrating after receiving its third external honour of what is proving to be a very successful term.  Pupils at Chestnut have been learning valuable lessons about what goes on in the world of grown-ups during school time following a series of visitors from different professions, discussing their jobs.  Scientific studies at the Cordwalles School in Camberley have been making something of a buzz after the school’s new Phiz Lab teaching facilities were opened.  Reception children at Lime Tree School in Merstham were invited back into school after hours the other day – but there were no complaints from pupils or parents as they went on an after-dark adventure around the school grounds.
Budding astronomers at Hillcroft Primary School in Caterham enjoyed a night under the stars recently – but slept safely in the warm and dry of school.
The playground of Danetree Primary school in West Ewell looked liked something out of a comic book last week as pupils were encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite superheroes to launch the school’s Learning Powers programme.  The Beacon of Banstead met the bright lights of the West End recently as Year 12 and 13 drama students from the Surrey school enjoyed two theatre trips to London as part of their A level studies.
Pupils at Warlingham Village Primary School paid their own Remembrance Weekend respects last week as they took part in a ceremony at a local church to commemorate the contribution of Britain’s war dead.  |
