The summer holidays got off to an early start for Year Two pupils at Salfords Primary School in Redhill recently when they enjoyed a trip to the seaside – and went time travelling at the same time.  Pupils at Cordwalles Junior School in Camberley have been learning that not only does charity start at home, it also starts at school after they managed to secure a grant from the Big Lottery fund to transform a disused building into a new teaching facility.
The young Olympians of the future at Lime Tree Primary School in Merstham have been encouraged to put their best feet forward and take part in Run Reigate, the UK's first cumulative half marathon for children.
Year Six pupils at Danetree School in West Ewell were encouraged to channel their inner Sherlock Holmes recently when they took part in a forensic challenge.  Taking reception class children to a day at the races might seem an unlikely highlight of a school outing, but that was one of the main talking points after pupils from Lightwater Village School paid a trip to Bocketts Farm in Leatherhead recently.
The world’s top athletes will be going for gold at the Rio Olympics later this summer, and with that in mind the youngsters of Cordwalles Junior School in Camberley have already laid down a marker after they were awarded a Silver School Games award by the Youth Sport Trust.  |
