Throughout the 1990s, Gladiators was one of Britain’s most popular Saturday night prime time entertainment shows, and its contestants were household names and faces. But as one of them, Gladiator Vogue, revealed to the GladPod podcast, a new show lifting the lid on all things Gladiator-themed, many of us could have known her by a completely different name! Gladiators star Vogue has said some playground behaviour on the set of the smash hit TV show led to her life changing in a way she could not have imagined. Speaking to The GladPod, a podcast all about Gladiators, Vogue - aka Suzanne Cox – revealed how she got closer to one of the contestants than planned, 1997 quarter-finalist Mark Roberts; so close in fact that they ended up getting married and having two children. Throughout the 1990s, Gladiators was one of the most popular shows on British television, and one of its most recongisable stars – and haircuts - was Gladiator Hunter. But when the Gladiators party ended in January 2000, Hunter, or James Crossley as he is also known, cleared his diary to let down his hair and make up for any lost parties he'd missed during eight years of keeping in tip-top shape. James Crossley was one of the most recognisable faces on British television in the 1990s, as part of the spandex-clad superstar line-up of one of the country’s favourite tv shows. But as he told the new GladPod podcast, had things turned out differently, the Hunter we know and love may never have been! Gladiators star Hunter has revealed that while he was keen to impress viewers on the hit 90s tv show with his athletic performance, some of his fellow contestants were more interested in being outstanding in less subtle ways. Speaking to the GladPod podcast, Hunter – aka James Crossley – says it is only in hindsight that he realised how little their costumes left to the imagination. He may have been known to viewers as Gladiator Hunter, but the star of the popular 90s Saturday night show Gladiators has revealed how he became a wild animal to prepare himself for the show. Speaking on the GladPod podcast, Gladiator Hunter, also known as James Crossley, said how he used to practice wild animal meditation to get himself mentally prepared for the show’s physical challenges. Gladiators star Hunter has revealed the intense training regime that made him one of the star performers on the hugely popular 90s Saturday night prime time show. Speaking on the GladPod podcast, Gladiator Hunter, or James Crossley as he is known to friends and family, gave details of how detailed his workout was to make him one of the show’s most fierce competitors. |
