Talented art students at Thomas Clarkson Academy in Wisbech really pulled out all the stops when they designed Christmas cards to be sent out.
The standard of entry for the competition was really high, said the judges, and it was a tough job to decide the winners from years 7, 8, 9 and 10.

Altruistic youngsters in Hunstanton celebrated the end of term by ditching their school uniforms to raise money for not one, but two charitable causes.
The students at Smithdon High School were taking part in Christmas Jumper Day, and swapped their usual school attire for festive knitwear and accessories in support of Save the Children and Norfolk Young Carers, with all proceeds divided equally between the charities. Soloists, bands and choir singers came together to celebrate the season at the Marshland High School Christmas Concert, where they entertained friends, family and members of the community with an evening of festive favourites.
The first Christmas Bonanza show at a Wisbech academy since the pandemic entertained an audience including the Mayoress of Wisbech this week.
The Thomas Clarkson Academy Christmas Bonanza was a show of art, music, drama and dance and Mayoress Janet Tanfield attended with council member David Sagoo. Young eco warriors in Ashington have been doing their bit for the environment by planting 165 trees and over 100 daffodil bulbs in the grounds of their school.
The 12-strong Eco Committee at St Aidan’s Catholic Primary includes pupils from Years 2 to 6 at the school, which is part of the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust. Traditional Christmas carols joined popular festive songs for a special evening at a King’s Lynn school.
The Springwood Christmas Concert featured musicians and vocalists on Tuesday when parents, carers and friends packed the Peter Hopkins Hall for a full programme of entertainment at the end of term. Residents at a South Wootton care home had their festive spirits lifted when they received a yuletide visit from a group of young singers.
The Kingsmen Choir from Springwood High School in King’s Lynn treated the seniors at Woodlands to a range of seasonal favourites, from traditional carols to more contemporary classics. Elves, snowmen and reindeer were all in attendance when children at a West Norfolk school held their annual Christmas Fayre.
The pupils at Gaywood Primary were joined by family and friends at the event, where they enjoyed a host of activities with a festive twist, such as Knock the Elf off the Shelf, Hook a Bauble, Snowman Skittles, Reindeer Antler Hoopla, and Pin the Nose on Rudolph. A teacher has been recognised for her “outstanding” work in supporting students at a Lynn Sixth Form.
Lynne Franklin, who is Head of Pastoral at Springwood High School, was singled out to receive an award for Outstanding Staff Contribution, following her work in organising and supporting cultural trips abroad for the school’s sixth formers. |
