 Young runners at an Alnwick school have raised thousands of pounds in memory of a beloved teacher who died two-and-a-half years ago.
Pupils at St Paul’s RC Primary School wanted to raise funds to help the Macmillan charity and remember teacher Noreen Byrne who died in December 2018. They used Capt Tom Moore’s 100 Challenge to inspire them to run a total of at least 100 miles to reach a wonderful sponsorship amount of £4,603.  Year 7 science students at a West Norfolk secondary school have learnt the truth of the phrase ‘don’t ask, don’t get’ after writing to legendary wildlife broadcaster Sir David Attenborough with a query about their studies – and receiving a handwritten reply.
 A group of Year 10 students at a high school in King's Lynn have had a chance to show how far they have chosen to take their studies beyond the bounds of the curriculum after presenting their higher projects to staff and school governors.
 Families being unable to visit elderly and vulnerable relatives during the pandemic meant the role of care workers acting as surrogate families became more important than ever.
And one Norfolk care worker says it is the family atmosphere within her own team that has helped them all get through such tough times.  A chain of schools across the borough has given the stars of tomorrow an extra-curricular helping hand by organising a West Norfolk’s Got Talent competition for its pupils.
