Christmas shoppers will be able to save money on their bus travel into King’s Lynn after Norfolk Green confirmed today it had signed up to the Vancouver Quarter discount card scheme.
The West Norfolk bus operator joins 10 other Vancouver Quarter businesses and the Alive Leisure trust, which runs the King’s Lynn Corn Exchange, Lynnsport, St James Pool, Downham Leisure Centre, and the Oasis at Hunstanton, currently offering discounts. Cardholders heading into King’s Lynn to enjoy one of the Vancouver Quarter’s late night shopping events, held every Thursday from November 27 to December 18, will receive 10 per cent off their travel on Norfolk Green’s service 10, 11 and Coasthopper 1 buses. Abbie Panks, Vancouver Quarter centre manager, said: “We’re delighted that Norfolk Green has joined our discount card scheme. They are very much a part of the Vancouver Quarter and bring thousands of people directly into the heart of the town every week. “This initial discount will help make cardholders’ money go that little bit further at a very expensive time of year for many families in West Norfolk. We will continue to work with Norfolk Green to seek other opportunities for further discounts and we will announce these once confirmed.” Burger King, Ikon, Wimpy and the Majestic Cinema are also on the discount card scheme, as are Johnsons, Blue Inc, Claire’s, Trespass, Supercuts and Moccachinos. Will Smith, Norfolk Green commercial manager, added: “We are delighted to join the Vancouver Quarter discount card scheme which further strengthens our existing partnership with the Vancouver Quarter. “In the build up to Christmas 2014, we are looking to encourage shoppers to ditch the car in favour of the bus with this offer of discounted travel. We are also excited by the future promotional possibilities that we will be able to offer as a participant in the scheme.” To discover the current discounts being offered, visit http://vancouverquarter.com/discount-card/current-offers

Families are being invited to descend to the heart of King’s Lynn on Friday 31 October for a Halloween spooktacular.
The Vancouver Quarter is again teaming up with the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk to celebrate Halloween with a special trail around the town centre. Between 3pm and 5.30pm, children and their parents will need to report to the Vancouver Quarter’s Halloween HQ on Baxter’s Plain, opposite Argos and Costa Coffee, to collect their trail map before making their way around the town centre searching for code words. Those who collect all the words to our special Halloween poem will be rewarded with a goodie bag from the Vancouver Quarter and the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. Abbie Panks, Vancouver Quarter centre manager, said: “This is one of the highlights of the year for the centre and we once again look forward to welcoming hundreds of children to this year’s event. “This free event gets bigger every year and it’s always lovely for us to see so many children dressed up for the occasion and helping to transform King’s Lynn town centre for Halloween. “More stores than ever before are getting involved this year and many are planning additional Halloween activities to help create a wonderful atmosphere.” Children are being encouraged to don their spookiest fancy dress outfit for the event and for those wishing to undergo the complete transformation, a face painter will be in the Vancouver Quarter from 11am until 3pm. Cllr David Pope, cabinet member for public space, added: “We’re pleased to be supporting this free fun event which helps families to enjoy the town centre.” |
