Girls from Springwood High School in King’s Lynn have been encouraged to aim high by a visit from the Royal Air Force schools programme.
The initiative was focused on female students in Years 7, 8 and 9, and was not about recruitment or careers, but rather on using some of the life skills developed by service personnel to help young girls build confidence and character.

A carer says her motto for the pandemic has been to keep calm and carry on, after her outstanding efforts saw her recognised as a GEM.
Debbie Underwood works for Extra Hands, and was named the award-winning firm's latest winner of the GEM award – standing for Going the Extra Mile. The awards were launched last year after Extra Hands was inundated with stories from our service users of carers going the extra mile during the Covid-19 pandemic.
