Businesses from around King’s Lynn showed off their footballing skills and composure under pressure to be crowned the best penalty takers in town today (Monday 10 August).
The annual event was the third Vancouver Quarter Business Challenge of 2015 and drew a crowd of spectators on Baxter's Plain after the action began at 1pm with the team from Ward Gethin Archer emerging as champions after beating Primark in the grand final.

KLFM and Wilko finished third and fourth respectively. Studio 20a and Sainsbury's completed the list of participants.

"It was wonderful to see so many people stop on Baxter's Plain to watch and cheer on the teams taking part in our beat the goalie challenge,” said Vancouver Quarter marketing and events assistant David Blackmore. “The sun was shining and there was an brilliant atmosphere throughout the challenge with cheers for goals and gasps at misses.”

Abbie Panks, Vancouver Quarter centre manager, added: “Our thanks to Dan Buhlemann and the rest of the team at King's Lynn Community Football for running the challenge and to all those who took part.

"It was another excellent opportunity for businesses across the town to get out and meet other retailers - something that is not always easy to do during the day. Well done to Ward Gethin Archer for winning their second Vancouver Quarter business challenge. We're looking forward to revealing details of our final mystery business challenge shortly."

This event followed pancake racing in February, which was won by Alive Leisure, and egg and spoon racing in April, which was won by Ward Gethin Archer. Businesses will compete in a final mystery challenge in October.

The team with the most points after these four challenges will be crowned Vancouver Quarter Business Challenge 2015 champions and a donation will be made to a charity of the winner’s choice.
