A group of Wisbech students have been celebrating exceptional results after completing their child development course. And a teacher at Thomas Clarkson Academy described telling the group of their success as the highlight of her career. The majority of the cohort achieved grades which were higher than their targets, illustrating the dedication they had to doing well in the subject.
“I couldn’t be prouder of how these students have pushed themselves to achieve these marks. This group of students are special, as I have taught many of them since they started with us and it was a highlight of my career being able to share their results with them,” said Laura Heasell, teacher of child development. Grades in the subject are based on 50 per cent external exam and 50 per cent coursework and the results in recent years have been impressive. But this year’s cohort is the best so far. “It’s very pleasing to see such a wonderful set of results. The Year 11 students have worked so hard and it was great to see that their efforts have been rewarded. I am looking forward to seeing them carry this momentum into their exams across all other subjects,” said Jack Cronin, raising standards leader for Year 11. Principal Richard Scott said the results were a great start for the group. “I am so proud of all the work they have done, they deserve the grades they have achieved,” he said.
