There were smiles at Glyn School in Epsom this morning when students collected their GCSE results. High achievers included Yang Liu who achieved 10 9s, and Kieran Meah who received eight 9s and one 8. Yang said: “I am pretty excited about my results. I did not think I would get 9’s in everything”. Kieran added: “I am over the moon. I didn’t expect so many 9s. I am so happy because I worked so hard”. Other high achievers at Glyn included Niall Mirza (seven 9s and two 8s, and Zain Khan (seven 9s and two 8s)
Niall said: “Thanks to all my friends, family and teachers for supporting me the whole way through”. Zain said: “I am lost for words but pleased with myself overall. I worked hard especially over lockdown and committed myself to my studies”. Jo Garrod, Head of School, said the class of 2021 at Glyn was a truly exceptional year group. "Not only have they had the disruptions of the global pandemic to challenge them but they also have had two bereavements in their year group whilst undertaking their GCSE studies. "This brought the year group together as one and the strength and resilience shown by this remarkable cohort is staggering. "The grades are a legitimate reflection on their hard work, commitment and dedication shown towards their studies. "They should all be very proud of themselves and we wish them all the very best with their futures and look forward to seeing many of them join us in our Sixth Form. "I would also like to thank all the staff for their herculean effort this year to ensure our students got the grades they deserved."
