Parents and children were treated to a seasonal display of the Sheep Shimmy and dancing Wise Men as the school’s nativity production Straw and Order took place last week. Children from Phase One – Years One, Two and Three – came together to put on the show which drew an enthusiastic response from the audience of fellow pupils and members of the wider school family.
“The children put in weeks of effort to make this show as good as they could so it’s great for them that it’s proved so popular, and that they can take such a sense of achievement from it,” said Year Three teacher and the school’s music co-ordinator, Natasha Lobo. “Putting on a production like this, with so many children of different ages, requires a lot of hard work and patience from everyone involved, so it’s wonderful to know that hard work has been rewarded. The Year Threes did most of the acting parts, with Year One supplying the angels and donkeys, as well as singing, and Year Two made great sheep and wise men!”. “Not only is this a hugely fun thing to be involved in for the children, but they all learn something from it being a cross-years production, rather than just working with children of thei own age, and as a teacher, that’s really rewarding to see,” said Ms Lobo. “Thank you so much to the children for making so much effort, and to all the parents and family who came to see it as well. That support makes it all feel so worthwhile.”
