Representatives from 24 Oakham Ales-serving pubs across the UK enjoyed a special evening last week at Brewery Tap in Peterborough to celebrate their support for the award-winning brewery. The annual 75 stockist event on Wednesday 23 November saw publicans from as far away as Huddersfield, Cheltenham and Norwich receive a trophy and certificate from Oakham’s managing director Adrian Posnett and Head Brewer Alex Kean.
Hosted by press officer David Blackmore, the pubs qualified for the event by selling 75 or more brewers barrels (over 21,000 pints) over the past year. Mr Posnett said it was wonderful to catch up with a number of pubs across the country who have supported Oakham over the years as well as meeting pubs who qualified for this event for the first time. He added: “This is my favourite event of the year. It’s always an incredibly special evening where we get to say a big thank you to those who have, and continue to, support us by putting Oakham Ales in pride of place in their pubs." As well as the fine food and Oakham Ales on offer at Brewery Tap, the landlords and their guests were also able to try StoneWalker’s Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon, courtesy of Oakham’s sister company Bellwether Wines.
