Gladiators star Hunter has revealed the intense training regime that made him one of the star performers on the hugely popular 90s Saturday night prime time show. Speaking on the GladPod podcast, Gladiator Hunter, or James Crossley as he is known to friends and family, gave details of how detailed his workout was to make him one of the show’s most fierce competitors. “I used to find something special for each event,” he said. “I’d be pushing a car round a car park for the Atlas Spheres, for Duel I’d be boxing with my feet tied together, for The Wall I’d be climbing a climbing wall with weighted backpacks, we found somewhere to do tackling practice for Powerball - we found something for every event to be as prepared as possible,” he said.
“That’s great for the show but in the real world being able to wield a pugil stick doesn’t get you very far!” Gladiator Hunter was one of British television’s biggest stars throughout the 90s, and he was speaking on the GladPod podcast, hosted by Gladiator Jet, also known as Diane Youdale, and journalist David Blackmore.
