Extra Hands Home Care, which has offices in Heacham and Broadland, arranged the events to share mince pies with friends, service users and their families along with the young visitors.
The first gathering was at Horsford where children from the village primary school were invited to share some music with guests and staff from Extra Hands to bring some Christmas cheer. “We really enjoy organising social events in the communities we work. It is a really nice way to meet everyone, make new friends from across the generations and ensure our service users have the chance to socialise,” said public relations and marketing director Anita Walter. The Heacham event again had children from the village junior school provide entertainment and guests held a raffle to raise money for the Falls Support Appeal at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn. The appeal, with a target of £35,000 is raising money towards a raft of specialist equipment to help prevent injury from falls. Extra Hands is an award-winning family-owned company which covers Norfolk working both privately and with the local authority. It was the first in the county to offer well-being checks to help reassure families and friends who can’t always be available to help. With more than 25 years in business, it has grown an enviable reputation for care and support and offers a flexible service which can be tailored to individuals. Extra Hands has held the Investor in People award for many years and has also received regional and national honours for its services.
