Children can decorate a cosy home for creepy crawlies or make their own wooden bird feeder at a free workshop being held in the Vancouver Quarter. The great outdoors-themed activity will be situated in the former Calendar Club unit next to Costa Coffee and opposite Wilkinson on New Conduit Street and run from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 23 April.
Youngsters must be five years and above to make a wooden bird feeder, but there is no age restriction for decorating the bug hotels. There will be six 45-minute sessions, starting at 10am, 10.45am, 11.30am, 12.15pm, 1.30pm, and 2.15pm, but places need to be booked in advance as there are only limited places available. This workshop comes after a more than 120 children and their parents attended a free workshop on Easter Saturday to celebrate the arrival of Spring by making a special basket. There was also a special free Mother’s Day photoshoot in the Vancouver Quarter on Saturday 20 February, and a plant pot decorating workshop ahead of Mother’s Day on Saturday 5 March. There will be plenty of other free events in the Vancouver Quarter this year, including the return of our very popular Halloween event and Christmas Grotto. Follow them on Twitter, like their page on Facebook and keep an eye on their website for details of events when they are confirmed.
