Top student Kiara Kielkiewicz received a full-house of top grade 9s in all her ten subjects and a high proportion of top grades were also awarded to Tabitha Wren, Sam Vellacott, Erin Eden-Hughes, Josh Garnett, Morgan Joyce, Lucy Vella, Zach Jennings, Alana Trotter and Rebecca Frost.
“The outcomes achieved do not happen by accident and are a testament to the dedication of the students as well as the excellent support and guidance by staff and their parents or carers. The fact that the vast majority of de Stafford students leave with such positive outcomes is a reflection of the strong academic progress they have made in their time at the school,” said headteacher Jeremy Garner. He also praised students who made great progress from their academic starting point and said ‘special recognition should go to Laura Naylor Burgess, Ben Morphew, Rhianna Hallet, Syd Fleet, Adwaith Kocheril Jomon, Bethan Allain, Thea Alseben and Elizabeth Johnson.’ “The year group contributed so much to the school community and we are just as proud of the way in which they have developed into highly aspirational and confident young adults, comfortable of their place in society and the positive contribution they can make to it,” he added. Students also deserve credit for their ‘maturity, resilience and fortitude’ during the unprecedented situation they faced. “As a cohort, the class of 2020 achieved an excellent set of GCSE results following a robust and rigorous standardisation process. It is only right that we acknowledge and recognised the hard work, commitment and perseverance that were essential ingredients of their success,” said Mr Garner. “We wish the students well as they move onto the next phase of their education with our full support and best wishes.”
