More than 30 families celebrated their bond during a free photo shoot by a professional photographer in the Vancouver Quarter on Saturday 20 February. The pop up studio was situated next to Costa Coffee and opposite Wilkinson on New Conduit Street. The event ran from 10am to 4pm and saw 58 children have their picture taken.
Families booked their space via the Vancouver Quarter website in advance to ensure their love was captured ahead of Mother’s Day and are now able to download them for free. Following the success of this year’s photo shoot, centre manager Abbie Panks said she hoped to organise another free photo shoot for families ahead of Mother’s Day next year. “We were delighted at the success of this photo shoot – it was a brilliant way for people to have their photo taken for free and we were so pleased with the take up from the public,” she said. “What was particularly pleasing was that it was fully booked well in advance, which shows there is huge demand for people wanting to have their picture taken by a professional. “There will be plenty of other free events in the Vancouver Quarter this year, including the return of our very popular Halloween event and Christmas Grotto. Next up will be free Easter activities on 4th April. Follow us on Twitter, like our page on Facebook and keep an eye on our website for details of events when they are confirmed.” The next free workshop being held in the Vancouver Quarter is another Mother’s Day-inspired event. This time children can decorate a plant pot, which will be filled with soil and a plant, to give to their Mum. For more details about this workshop, click here.
