Danetree School opens arms - and doors - to new staff members

Teachers and educators of Surrey – Danetree Primary needs you! That is the message being sent out by the school as it prepares for its autumn expansion which will see the school become a large primary school in West Ewell.

In the run-up to such a momentous change, Danetree, which is part of the GLF Schools group and deemed a ‘Good’ school by Ofsted in June 2014, is hosting its own recruitment fair on Saturday 5th March.

Head teacher James Broad said he was hopeful the event would spread awareness of what is happening at the school, as well as helping find new staff members.

“Everyone at the school is extremely excited about what the expansion means for Danetree, so we’re very keen to ensure we get the best possible people on board to make it as big a success as we can,” he explained.

“At the moment we’re a four-form entry school with around 500 pupils, but come September those numbers are going to rise, and we’re going to be needing more than 20 additional members of staff. We are currently looking for Nursery Staff, Teaching Assistants, Class Teachers and Trainee Teachers.

“It’ll be a big change – and an even bigger opportunity – for everyone associated with the school, staff, pupils and parents alike, so we’re really excited about this chance to bring more people into the Danetree School family, to share that journey with us.”

Danetree is part of the GLF schools group, a rapidly-expanding Surrey-based multi-academy trust, which runs more than a dozen schools across Surrey, Middlesex, Berkshire and Oxfordshire, based on a system of collaborative learning.

“Danetree is an exciting place to be, as a teacher and as a pupil,” Mr Broad added. “We pride ourselves on the way we stimulate the children and encourage them to aspire, both inside and outside school, with activities like outward bound courses, performing at the Epsom Playhouse theatre, and visiting the Natural History Museum, all of which we’ve done in the last few months.

“September’s expansion is going to make the school bigger, brighter and better, and we’re excited to have the opportunity to offer other people the chance to become part of it.”
