Christmas Jumper Day at Marshland High School

Festive fundraisers at Marshland High School donned Christmas jumpers today in support of Save the Children.

Staff and students alike at the secondary school sported a wide range of colourful, themed knitwear to raise money for the charity’s annual appeal, which first began in 2012 and has since raised over £35 million for children in the UK and overseas.

“Marshland has taken part in Christmas Jumper Day almost every year since it started, and it is so lovely to see the variety of jumpers each year,” said Sarah Swinburn, Assistant Head Teacher at the school, which is part of the West Norfolk Academies Trust.

“We have it open to the whole staff and students and encourage as many as possible to take part,” she continued. “We currently have already raised £125 and hope this increases after the event with donations through ParentPay. We normally raise between £200 and £400.”

In 2022, over two million school pupils and 24,000 workplaces took part in the fundraiser, generating £5 million for Save the Children.
