Best Easter bonnets on display at busy William Morris Primary School.

Everyone from a cheerful Minion to the Easter Bunny could be found among the imaginative headgear on display at William Morris Primary School.

Staff and students modelled their inspired creations for a special competition held at the Banbury school earlier this week.
Real straw, egg-shaped accessories, chicks and bunnies were all involved in the fun event in the run-up to the school holidays which start on Friday (7) when the Bretch Hill school breaks-up.
“The Easter bonnets were fantastic and everyone enjoyed the day. The winners were thoroughly deserving and we must thank everyone who worked so hard to create innovative and colourful bonnets,” said Executive Headteacher Julie Hiddleston.
The young winners were: Charlie Leonard (reception Oak), George Payne (Year 1 Wattle), Mitchell McDonagh (Year 2 Willow), Kayla Houston (Year 3/4 Elm), Rosabella Parsons-Wilerton (Year 4/5 Cherry). The teaching team also took part in the contest and Mrs Elizabeth Jones took the honours with a stunning display of chick and bunny deely boppers.
An Easter Extravaganza was also held on Tuesday (4) when a cake stall, raffle, tombola were all part of the fun after the school day.
The school, a member of the GLF multi-academies trust, has had a busy run-up to the break with pupils taking part in a performance of the musical Grease on Wednesday (5).
William Morris has also recently hosted a group of teachers from around the county who watched maths lessons as the school’s teaching of the subject is gaining a great reputation. It aims to be a lead school in the area for teaching Maths Mastery and is a member of the Gloucestershire, Oxfordhsire, Worcestershire (GLOW) hub of schools aiming to transform maths education.
