There were celebrations at Glyn School, part of Glyn Learning Foundation, in Epsom this morning when A level students collected their results. Head Boy Nathan Selman achieved 3 A* in Maths, Further Maths and Physics, and is now going to Preston to start an Apprenticeship with BAE Systems in Aerospace Engineering, while Adam Hunt achieved 4 A* in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Geography, and is going to the University of Cambridge to read Economics. Harry Benton achieved 3 A* in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, and is going to the University of Liverpool to read Veterinary Medicine. Meanwhile Holly Pheby, who achieved 2 A* in Law and Psychology and an A in Geography, had originally applied to study Criminology at university but has now secured a job within the NHS answering 999 calls. She is hoping to start a Paramedics degree course after a year within the NHS.
Jo Garrod, Glyn's Head of School, said: "We are incredibly proud of all of our Year 13 students today and the results that they have achieved. In a turbulent two years, they have remained optimistic and resilient in the ever changing environment they found themselves in. "These students have faced the toughest challenging period possible and managed to equip themselves with strong exam grades but most importantly strength of character and independence they need for their futures. "We congratulate the Class of 2021 and wish them well as they move to their next step along their journey."
