The SSE Arena reverberated to the sound of thousands of voices and the 35-strong Springfield contingent joined with a variety of songs including One Direction’s History and Flashlight, by Jessie J.
“All the children were fantastic and represented Springfield amazingly. Thanks must go to the parents for their continuing support and the School Association for providing each child with a glow stick. They really made it a memorable experience,” said choir leader Hannah Gregson. A highlight of the evening was a banner parade when the Springfield Banner was held on the main stage by three pupils; Fleur, Layla and Daisy, before it was walked through the entire audience. The choir also sang and danced alongside Reggie N Bollie from the X Factor during their visit to the event on March 8. Music has a prominent place in the curriculum at the school, part of the GLF multi-schools academy trust, and a group of 37 pupils from the choir also performed in the Young Voices concert at London’s O2 Arena earlier this year. The Voice in a Million event ran over two nights and next year’s show is already being planned for March 14 and 15. For more information see the website: www.voiceinamillion.com
