Children in years 5 and 6 at Hammond School joined forces for a production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves which took to the stage for four performances. Meanwhile, their younger counterparts at Lightwater Village School were presenting The Magical Christmas Jigsaw.
The first of Hammond’s run of shows was staged specially for pupils of Lightwater Village School’s Year 2 on Tuesday afternoon. But Wednesday was also a busy day with both a matinee and evening performance before another show ended the run on Thursday evening. With a total of 55 narrators, singers, dancers and, of course, Snow White herself (Cecile Poulain), the Queen (Hannah Webb) and Prince (Max Powick), the three-act show had plenty of audience participation. All the pupils at Lightwater Village School took part in their nativity show as either a character or a dancer and each class also had its own scene. “The entire cast worked really hard during rehearsals to make sure the shows were brilliant for their audiences. Everyone enjoyed themselves with some much-deserved fun as we approach the Christmas holidays,” said head teacher of both schools, Sarah Evans. The schools, both members of the multi-academy GLF Trust, will enjoy a Carols by Torchlight evening on Monday (18) and a Christmas Jumper Day and Christmas Lunch later in the week.
