Last summer’s GCSE graduates went back to school to celebrate their exam successes at an award evening held in their honour. Marshland High School’s Class of 2023 were welcomed back to the school where they were joined by friends, family and staff members keen to recognise their outstanding achievements with a prize-giving ceremony.
Assistant Head Chris Teanby compered the evening, inviting the winners to collect their prizes, while Marshland’s Chair of Governors, Steve Cozens, was on hand to present the awards to the high-flying students. Besides awarding GCSE certificates, additional prizes were made for each subject area, as well as for sport, leadership, attendance, progress, and attainment at the school, which is part of the West Norfolk Academies Trust. Among the top achievers commended for Outstanding Attainment were Jack Howling, Toma Torcina, and Bailey Stirling, while former Year 11 student Callum Ping gave a Valedictorian Speech. “The evening provided a chance for the Class of 2023 to celebrate the end of their GCSEs,” said Mr Teanby. “The Prize Giving event is a fantastic evening to rightly celebrate the achievements of a fantastic year group. The evening provided students time to celebrate with their family and school staff, who have supported them through their education.”
