The head teacher of an Epsom school is proud of the “stellar” A Level results achieved by his class of 2023. The sixth formers at Rosebery School celebrated impressive grades across the board, with 30 girls achieving A*s and As in all of their subjects, and seven receiving straight A*. Top performers included Aimei G, Isla G, Lucy H, Esme L, Sophie R, Alice S and Georgina W, while 38 per cent of the school’s A Level entries were graded A* or A, and 67 per cent were A* to B, and 83 per cent were A* to C.
“These results are almost in line with those in 2022 and are far higher than the results achieved in 2019 which, given the expected grade deflation, demonstrates how brilliantly this cohort has done,” said David Lach, Head of School at Rosebery, a member of the GLF Multi-Academies Trust. “They have received a stellar set of A Level results, and we are delighted that their hard work, dedication and determination have seen them achieve the grades they richly deserve.” He continued: “We could not be prouder of the class of 2023. We always knew they were a special and talented cohort, and we are so pleased that, despite the context of national uncertainty, they have been able to achieve such fantastic results – well done, girls! “As importantly, these results will ensure that our students are able to secure places at their preferred universities or onward destination of choice, including Oxbridge, for veterinary science and dentistry. “I must also thank the Rosebery staff and Sixth Form team for supporting our students through the challenges of the last few years, and for preparing them so effectively for these examinations – something which was also highlighted during our recent Ofsted inspection which reconfirmed that our Sixth Form provision is Outstanding.”
