Royal parade at Salfords

A parade and a garden party, complete with kings, queens, princes and princesses, took place at Salfords Primary School, a member of GLF Schools, on Friday (5) as part of the school’s Coronation celebrations.

Children at the school in Redhill came ‘dressed to impress the King’ in a range of costumes, before enjoying a selection of themed garden party games on the school field.

They also took part in a Coronation competition which asked them to design a crown or shield, with prizes awarded for the best in each class, and the 15 winners invited to show their creations to the residents of Greensand House Care Home.

Other highlights of the day included a parade, with some children visiting the Salfords and Sidlow Parish Coffee Morning, and a sunflower growing competition, as well as a special Coronation lunch.

“We enjoy celebrating national events – especially one of such importance and one which will go down in the history books,” said Co-Headteacher Claire Regnard. 

“As part of our work on British values, we teach the children to treat one another with respect, as we should with the Royal family.”
