Young artists from Aureus School in Didcot showcased their creative talents at the school’s annual Art Exhibition.
Students across all age groups, from Years 7 through to 11, exhibited a selection of carefully curated pieces at the show, displaying a variety of different styles and media, and drawing on diverse sources of inspiration.

“The 2025 Aureus Art Exhibition was a resounding success, proudly celebrating the exceptional creativity of our Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students,” said Steph Robins, Head of Art at Aureus, which is part of the GLF Schools Multi-Academy Trust.

“The event drew an enthusiastic crowd of parents, carers, and guardians, many of whom offered heartfelt praise for the students’ talent, imagination, and dedication.”

Among the exhibits were drawings inspired by Karl Blossfeldt, and vibrant, Kandinsky-style paintings, from Year 7; while Year 8 showed animal-themed, clay pinch pots, monoprints influenced by Alison Headley, and expressive, oil pastel studies in the style of Franz Marc.

Year 9 explored surreal interiors, influenced by Rene Magritte, in their artwork, as well as producing a ‘Collections’ project which referenced the Benin Bronzes from Nigeria, and other historical artefacts and artworks.

Meanwhile, the Year 10 students presented portfolio pages exploring their favourite portrait artists, alongside their current GCSE art sketchbooks; and the Year 11 group responded to the theme of ‘Identity’, producing work influenced by a host of contemporary artists and featuring a range of different media.

“This year, I am incredibly proud of the artistic progress made by our students,” continued Ms Robins. “They have thrived across a wide range of media. The students felt honoured to have their work exhibited for both the school community and the public to appreciate.”

“By showcasing their artwork, we aim not only to celebrate our students’ achievements, but also to encourage and inspire continued growth and exploration in the arts,” she added.

“Witnessing their peers’ creativity often sparks fresh ideas and motivation in others, contributing to a vibrant and supportive artistic community at Aureus School.”
