![]() Staff and pupils at a Surrey school are celebrating a clean-sweep of Outstanding awards following a recent Ofsted inspection. Hillcroft Primary is a ‘positive and nurturing school’ where staff have high aspirations and leaders are “relentless in their drive to ensure that all pupils can attend school and feel safe and cared for,” the report said.
“The executive headteacher and head of school have created a strong community and are passionate about giving every pupil the best possible education they can. Every pupil is included. Staff have high aspirations for all to achieve the best of their ability,” the inspectors said. “We are all extremely proud of everything we do here at Hillcroft, and it is fantastic that the inspectors recognised the consistent effort the team put in every day. This report is a credit to the whole school community, and we will continue to work together to provide the best education for all our children, ensuring they are supported, engaged and inspired in their learning,” said Louise Summers, Head of School. Hillcroft Primary, part of GLF Schools Multi-Academy Trust, offers pupils a rich personal development curriculum which looks after their wellbeing and ‘also develops their character exceptionally well.’ Early years provision was highlighted as being ‘exceptional’ and the ‘relentless’ focus on reading right across the school begins when children join the nursery. “All staff share the love of reading and model that joy to their pupils,” the report noted. The STRONG values of self-control, tolerance, respect, awareness of others, no-one left out and growing friendships are deeply embedded in the school which is reflected in the warmth pupils show towards one another. Every pupil at the school is included and the high aspirations of staff also include children with special educational needs. “Appropriate adaptations are made to ensure that these pupils have access to the full curriculum offer. Leaders are relentless in their drive to ensure that all pupils can attend school and feel safe and cared for,” the report says. The school’s provision is highly valued by the wider community and its life skills curriculum ensures children are equipped with the knowledge for life in the wider world. Leaders at the school actively ensure there’s a range of activities for all pupils and leaders rigorously explore funding options to ensure disadvantaged children don’t miss out. The school has a roll of 453 children aged between three and 11-years-old. It was awarded Outstanding in all the key areas of education quality, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and early years provision.
