The new leadership team at an Oxfordshire primary school has roots embedded in the area and a wealth of teaching experience . Headteacher at Manor Primary, Nicola Roberts has worked in Didcot for her whole career, and is taking on the role alongside her existing position as head at Aureus Primary School, rated ‘Outstanding by Ofsted,’ also in Didcot.
Both schools are members of the GLF Schools multi academy trust and the deputy head Hannah Zebrowski has spent most of her 11 years teaching at schools in the town. Both leaders are passionate about teaching and ensuring children have the best start to their education. Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, Manor Primary School was the first to be built in Didcot in 1896 - serving generations of people from the town. And Aureus is one of the newest schools in the area, opening its doors in 2018. “As a long-standing member of the community in Didcot, I feel privileged to head the leadership team at both Aureus and Manor primary schools. I take pride in both our schools, their children, staff and the wider school family and look forward to watching everyone grow, learn and flourish,” said Mrs Roberts. “The wellbeing and nurture of children is at the heart of all school decisions and they are explicitly taught with the highest of expectations. Manor Primary School has an ambitious and rigorous curriculum which has been designed for the school community,’ she added. Working in partnership with other GLF schools affords the opportunity to share staff, best practice and facilities where possible. Manor Primary has its own Forest School which is much-loved and used by pupils and also bases its curriculum on science, technology, engineering, arts and maths - STEAM. “We are very lucky to have such a wonderful facility in our outdoor learning environment which is used at every opportunity to enhance the learning and wellbeing of our children,” said Miss Zebrowski. The school has spaces for Reception starting in September and for more information see www.manorprimaryschool.org
