Students at Marshland High School are celebrating their best-ever set of GCSE results today, marking a landmark achievement for the school community.
An impressive 66 per cent of students achieved a grade 4 or higher in both English and maths, with 45 per cent of students securing a strong pass at grade 5 or above.

The results represent the highest examination outcomes the school, a member of the West Norfolk Academies Trust, has ever achieved, reflecting the hard work and determination of students and staff.

Headteacher Craig Jansen said he was immensely proud of the results. “We are absolutely thrilled with these record-breaking results. To achieve our best-ever grades is a testament to the incredible resilience and hard work of our students. It also speaks volumes about the dedication and support of our staff who have gone above and beyond to help them succeed. We couldn't be prouder of what they have accomplished.”

Student Sienna Miller, 16, is heading to Springwood High School’s sixth form for A Levels in business, English Language and Literature and Sociology. Her results included a grade 9 in English Language with a clutch of 8s and a 7.

“I would like to be a journalist, or maybe a writer,” she said.

A student at the school since Year 7, Sienna said the school had been "brilliant and I think it was really good and the teachers are really supportive - the pastoral care is great,” she said.

Kayleigh Begley, 16, is heading to Spalding Grammar School for her A Levels after she achieved Grade 9s across the board.

Katie Leach, 16, has her sights firmly set on the stage as she enjoys performing and belongs to the Nine Lives Theatre Company in Wisbech and will be appearing in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow later this year.

“I was pleased with my results, I love being on the stage, so I will do something along those lines,” she said.

Lola Hill, 16, will be starting at Springwood High School’s Sixth Form next month to study for A Levels in Psychology, English Literature and Media Studies.

Her grades, with three 9s, two 8s and four 6s, secured her place and she said she was also looking forward to celebrating with a trip to Nandos.

Karina Sitek, 16, was delighted with her top grade in Polish and has ambitions to become an architect after studying A Levels at the College of West Anglia.

Evie Gabb, 16, would like to be a concert photographer and will be studying her A Levels at Springwood High School in PE, history and photography. She said her results were great and she had enjoyed her years at Marshland High School.

The school’s Chair of Governors, Steve Cozens, also shared his congratulations. "On behalf of the Governing body, I'd like to extend my warmest congratulations to all the students. These results are a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of the school's commitment to excellence. We are confident that these outcomes will set our students up for a successful future, and we are so proud to be part of this success story."

Marshland High School continues its strong focus on supporting all students to achieve highly, ensuring they are able to successfully transition into post-16 education and beyond.
