The class of 2024 at Glyn School are celebrating the best A level results for seven years - with a quarter of them achieving grades at A* or A. A total of 32 students from the year group have achieved A* or A, and more than half of all grades were A* to B.
Six of the group were celebrating A*s in all their subjects and Head of School Jo Garrod said the results were a reflection of the hard work, commitment and dedication the students had shown. “They should all be very proud of themselves and we wish them all the very best with their futures,” she said. “I would also like to thank all the staff for their immense effort this year to ensure our students got the grades they deserved.” Among those celebrating was Luca B who has his place at Oxford University confirmed and he will study chemical engineering. A group of 13 students had a combination of A*s and As and the same number achieved straight As at the school, a member of the GLF Schools Multi-Academy Trust. More than half of all results were A* to B. The following students achieved A*s in all subjects: Sebastian C, Alexander G, Thomas J, Simon VL and Nathan W. A total of 13 had a combination of A* and A grades: Joe B 1A*, 2As; Gabriel C 1A*, 2As; Emma H 2A* & 1A; Kavian J 1A*, 2As; Fred K 2A* & 1A ; James K 2A* & 1A; Kate LC 1A*; 2As Akaven S 2A* & 1A; Henry T 2A* & 1A; Aditya R 2A* & 2A; Stanley W 1A*, 2A's ; Matthew S 3A*s & 1A and William M 2A* & 1A. A further 13 students achieved straight As: Polly C, Oliver DM, Thomas D, Caitlin D, Alex F, Aidan H, Fraser K, Krish M, Otto M, Amelia R, Toby S, Archie S and Ewan W.
