Pupils at the Pine Ridge and Lorraine Federation arrived in their finest costumes illustrating their favourite literary character for this year’s World Book Day event.
And the staff weren’t left out of the fun as they all raided their dressing-up boxes to bring characters to life from their own favourite books. "The children were asked to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. We were impressed to see so many fantastic costumes," said Paul Syson-Harvey, senior teacher and head of English. Pine Ridge and Lorraine share a site at Highland Road and are members of the multi-academy GLF Trust. Lorraine School is for children aged two to 7, as is Pine Ridge, and they share a site which includes outdoor teaching facilities. The schools are also preparing to take part in Science Week which begins on Monday, March 11.
