GLF Schools is planning to open Wickhurst Green Primary School in Broadbridge Heath and Kilnwood Vale Primary School near Crawley, both to serve new housing developments in these areas. A third school, Forge Wood High School, will be a new secondary school in Crawley.
Jon Chaloner (pictured), CEO for GLF Schools, said “We are pleased that our proposals for these three schools have been approved. We successfully opened Forge Wood Primary School in Crawley in September 2016 and look forward to working with the new communities in Kilnwood Vale and Wickhurst Green.” The new secondary school in Crawley has provisionally been named ‘Forge Wood High School’ but the final name will be decided once the location is known. “We know that there has been an increase in primary school places in Crawley in recent years, with many schools being expanded and new schools like Forge Wood being opened”, added Mr Chaloner, “and therefore there will not be enough secondary school places in Crawley in the coming years.” GLF Schools is a multi-academy trust which currently comprises 23 schools in Surrey, West Sussex, Croydon, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
