When Gladiators ruled the TV roost in the 1990s, its biggest stars were major celebrities and household names – but one of them wishes she had been famous for being bad. Speaking to the new GladPod, a podcast celebrating all things related to the smash hit show, Gladiator Vogue – aka Suzanne Cox – revealed she wishes she had been able to show her dark side, alongside the show’s resident bad-tempered villain, Wolf.
“I quite wanted to be a baddie, not because of Wolf but because I’m more Scary Spice, or at least I thought I was anyway,” she said. “But back in the 90s, girls weren’t allowed to be bitchy horrible and mean on television.” Hosted by former Gladiator Jet, aka Diane Youdale, and journalist David Blackmore, the GladPod catches up with some of the biggest names who were part of the show, and finds out about their lives in the spotlight, and where they have been since. To find out how Vogue managed to stay in her costume, what her Gladiator name should have been, and how her time on the show changed the course of her life, search and subscribe to the GladPod through your usual podcast suppliers.
