The star, who plays Warren Fox, sent a personal message to the school, part of the GLF multi-academies trust, and said the current ‘tough times’ would pass and he was sending his love to everyone.
The post was viewed more than 7,800 times after it appeared on Tuesday lunchtime. “Thank-you so much to actor, and star of Hollyoaks, Jamie Lomas for taking the time to send our students and staff some words of positivity. It means a lot to know that people really do care about education and how difficult these times are for everyone,” said head teacher Martin Giles. The actor, who has also appeared in EastEnders as Jake Stone and in Coronation Street as Jeff Durkin, said no-one had dealt with anything like the current situation before. “This is a message for all the students and all the staff at Meridian High School. I just want to say you know that these are really tough times for everybody and we are in uncertain times and we have never seen anything like this. I want to say well done for keeping going, for keeping strong and keeping safe and I just want to wish you all the best and to say hello and send my love and just to say keep going. You know we will get through this like we get through most things and let's all stay strong,” he said. The video message can be seen on the school’s Facebook page.
