Staff and youngsters at the school on Copsleigh Avenue embraced the spirit of the charity's mascot Pudsey with a display of spotty clothing and all things yellow as they took part in a themed day of events to raise money and awareness of the good cause and the work it supports.
"The children really got into the idea of what we were doing and understood it," said Gareth Parker, associate headteacher of Salfords, a member of the GLF schools multi-academy trust. "We had individual class assemblies to discuss what Children in Need is all about, and the work it does, then a fashion show before the whole school assembly. "By the end of the day, the children knew all about what sort of things their fundraising efforts were helping support, which was wonderful, because it made the whole event really come alive for them, rather than just being something they see on television."
