The event, which was planned at the Town Hall on April 4, would have been the tenth and final for organisers Michael and Wendy Foot who have raised more than £200,000 in memory of their son Robert.
He had leukaemia and died in 2002 at the age of 33 having been made an OBE for his work in Sierra Leone during the country’s civil war when he worked for the Ministry of Defence.
His parents launched the charity in his name to provide extra resources for the hospitals he was treated at, including the Queen Elizabeth in King’s Lynn.
The couple are rescheduling the event to ensure the tenth ceilidh can go ahead when the situation allows.
