A showcase of vocal talent across a range of genres hit all the right notes for the West Norfolk Academies Trust.
Everything from classical and musical theatre to folk songs, and even a piece by Queen, entertained the audience at Springwood High School, a member of the trust. Footballers from fellow members of a Norfolk academies trust faced one another on the pitch when they competed in the first round of a national tournament.
Aspiring cooks were put through their culinary paces when the Royal Air Force visited Marshland High School.
A group of Year 10 students took part in a Ready Steady Cook style challenge set by members of the RAF Catering Team, which involved them working in teams to create a two-course meal from scratch against the clock. Young musicians will have the chance to showcase their talent during two shows hosted by Springwood High School.
The first is a West Norfolk Academies Trust Vocal Evening on Thursday, February 1 from 6.30pm when a selection of soloists, duets and trios will take to the stage in the school’s recital room in front of an audience. Celebrations at the West Norfolk Academies Trust saw MP James Wild praise the hard work of everyone involved with its schools, which have all achieved a Good status from Ofsted.
Following impressive exam results last year, former GCSE students from a King’s Lynn school gathered to celebrate their successes at an event held in their honour.
Springwood High School welcomed back the Class of 2023 with a presentation evening which took place in the Peter Hopkins Hall at the school, a member of the West Norfolk Academies Trust. Young singers from a West Norfolk school showcased their musical talents with a performance at London’s O2 arena, where they sang in front of a crowd of thousands as part of the world’s largest school choir.
Tomorrow’s voters and politicians got a taste of democracy at work when they visited the Houses of Parliament and witnessed a live debate – as well as meeting their own MP.
