Head teacher Mrs Ros Allen said many of the students achieved top grades and are heading to Oxford University, medical school and the full range of Russell Group universities and almost all of the cohort are able to head to their first choice destination.
“It is of considerable concern to us, however, that these achievements will be overshadowed by a process which has led to the arbitrary downgrading of individual students, many of whom have not received the grade they deserved, despite government promises to this effect in May,” she said. The school, a member of the GLF multi-academy trust, invited students to collect their results and allocated them a time slot to maintain social distancing. Among them were twins Mia and Ellie Samman who achieved three A*s, two As and a B between them. Also celebrating at the school were Catherine Meech, Amaani Rana, Elise Elger, Georgia Oldridge, Isabel Campbell, Abi Crook and Izzy Godley.
